Background Information: | Interleukin 18 (IL-18) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine protein that is an integral member of the immune response and a member of the IL-1 superfamily. An agonist of IL18R1, IL-18 induces cell-mediated immunity from microbial infection, and works in combination with IL-12 to inhibit IgE and IgG1 production from IL-4 and enhance production of B cells from IgG2a. Negatively regulated by IL-18 binding protein (IL-18BP). Provided as 25 μg of dry powder alongside reconstitution buffer. |
