Biological Information

Background Information:

The SCF Fbw7 complex is a multi-subunit E3 ubiquitin ligase that belongs to the SCF (Skp1–Cullin1–F-box) family within the ubiquitin–proteasome system (UPS). Its key component, Fbw7, functions as the substrate recognition subunit, binding phosphorylated degron motifs on specific proteins to target them for ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation. Fbw7 mutations are common in colorectal, endometrial, and hematologic malignancies.
