Biological Information
Background Information:
N-terminal GST-tagged, recombinant, full length human PLK2/SNK. PLK2/SNK is a serine/threonine protein kinase that plays key roles in the cell cycle, differentiation, ontogenesis and the stress response. PLK2 is significantly down-regulated in a wide range of acute myeloid leukemias and B-cell lymphomas due to aberrant cytosine methylation in the CpG island located at the 5' of the PLK2 gene. PLK2 down-regulation by the microRNA miR-126 also appears to contribute to leukemogenesis, tumorigenesis, neurodegenerative diseases, inflammation and injury.
