Progesterone receptor β (PGR)

Target Class
NHR
Family
NHR
Official Symbol
PRβ
Species
Human
Accession Number
NM_000926
Alias Names
NR3C3; PR; nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 3; progesterone receptor
Background
This gene encodes a member of the steroid receptor superfamily. The encoded protein mediates the physiological effects of progesterone, which plays a central role in reproductive events associated with the establishment and maintenance of pregnancy. This gene uses two distinct promotors and translation start sites in the first exon to produce two isoforms, A and B. The two isoforms are identical except for the additional 165 amino acids found in the N-terminus of isoform B and mediate their own response genes and physiologic effects with little overlap. Technology:

Cell Based Protein Interaction
?

DiscoveRx Protein Interaction Assays are cell-based assays designed to measure protein interaction in engineered cell lines using our proprietary EFC technology. The interaction can be triggered by protein activation/inactivation and is the basis of several DiscoveRx cell based assays including the Arrestin and the Kinase assays. Learn more about our Cell Based Protein Interaction Assays.

, Cell Based Translocation
?

DiscoveRx Protein Translocation Assays are cell-based assays designed to measure protein translocation in engineered cell lines using our proprietary EFC technology. The translocation can occur to either the endosome, membrane, cytosol or nucleus and can be triggered by protein activation/inactivation. This forms the basis of several DiscoveRx cell based assays including the GPCR Internalization and the NHR Translocation assays. Learn more about our Cell Based Translocation Assays.

, Biochemical
?

DiscoveRx Biochemical Assays are designed as homogenous, competitive in vitro assays for precise, highly sensitive detection of specific analytes, protein binding or protease cleavage. These highly robust, reliable assays are anchored in our proprietary EFC technology, minimizing false positive due to autofluorescence and are HTS compatible.
