Biological Information

Background Information:

Murine CXCL16 is a cytokine protein expressed as a cell surface bound molecule, as well as a soluble chemokine, by macrophages, monocytes, B cells, and Schwann cells. Its expression is induced by IFNG and TNF-α. The soluble protein is chemotactic for activated CD8 T cells, inducing the process of calcium flux and regulating their migration. CXCL16 is an agonist for the CXCR6 receptor, but also serves as a receptor for oxidized LDL and phosphatidylserines. Provided as 5 μg of dry powder alongside reconstitution buffer.
