Biological Information

Background Information:

Platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) is a homodimeric protein that is released upon platelet activation that induces proliferation, migration, and survival of endothelial, epithelial, and smooth muscle cells, as well as fibroblasts. A potent mitogen for mesenchymal cells, PDGF-BB is able to bind PDGFRa and PDGFRb, and plays an important part in healing, regeneration, angiogenesis and formation of smooth muscle during embryonic development. May facilitate tumor metastasis and vascularization. Provided as 2μg of dry powder alongside reconstitution buffer.
