Biological Information

Background Information:

The PathHunter® TrkB-P75 Bioassay kit provides an easy-to-use cell based assay to measure drug potency and detect neutralizing antibodies. This bioassay assesses ligand (e.g. BDNF) induced dimerization of TrkB-P75 receptors. This product uses EFC technology. The included cells overexpress ProLink-tagged TrkB and an EA-tagged SH2 domain protein. It also overexpresses an untagged co-receptor, P75. Upon ligand-induced dimerization of TrkB-P75, detectable EFC signal is produced. Bioassay kits are a convenient, ready-to-use format which contains all materials needed to run the assay, including single-use vials of cryopreserved cells, cell plating media, control agonist, detection reagent, and assay plates.
