Biological Information

Background Information:

The PathHunter® Anakinra Bioassay kit provides an easy-to-use cell based assay to measure drug potency and detect neutralizing antibodies. This bioassay assesses IL-1α and IL-1β-induced dimerization of IL1RAP and IL1R1 receptors. This product uses EFC technology. The cell line included overexpresses IL1RAP target protein fused to PK alongside IL1R1 target protein fused to EA. Upon ligand-induced dimerization of IL1RAP and IL1R1, detectable EFC signal is produced. This assay has been optimized and qualified with Kineret® (not supplied in the bioassay kit). Kineret® is a registered trademark of Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB. Bioassay kits are a convenient, ready-to-use format which contains all materials needed to run the assay, including single-use vials of cryopreserved cells, cell plating media, control agonist, detection reagent, and assay plates.
