Background Information: | BAM (8-22) is a opioid peptide fragment of the bovine adrenal medulla (BAM22) neuropeptide that is involved in inflammation, pain, and morphine tolerance. Induces itch and nociceptive sensations. Lacks the met-enkephalin motif of BAM22, hence lacking affinity for opioid receptors. Selective agonist of the sensory neuron specific receptors SNSR3 and SNSR4 (EC50=28 and 14nM, respectively). Provided as 1 mg of dry powder. |
