Biological Information

Background Information:

MATK (Megakaryocyte-associated tyrosine kinase) is a non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase that belongs to the Src family of kinases. It is predominantly expressed in hematopoietic cells, particularly in megakaryocytes, platelets, and B cells.
Research has suggested that MATK may be involved in the development and progression of several types of cancer, including breast cancer, leukemia, and lymphoma. In breast cancer, MATK has been shown to be upregulated in a subset of tumors, and may promote cancer cell growth and survival. In leukemia and lymphoma, MATK has been shown to be involved in the regulation of cell survival and proliferation, and may be a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of these diseases.
