Endothelin-1

Endothelin 1 is an endothelium derived vasoconstrictive peptide produced in vascular endothelial cells. It is one of the three isoforms of endothelin, and a potent agonist of the endothelin receptors type A and type B (ETA and ETB). Widely expressed in all tissues, and responsible for maintenance of vascular tone.
