Doxorubicin HCl is an anthracycline antibiotic cancer chemotherapy drug that inhibits topoisomerase II by induction of double-stranded DNA breaking. Inhibits nucleic acid synthesis by intercalating with DNA, and induces apoptosis via p53 tumor suppressor protein accumulation. Commonly used to treat leukemias and Hodgkin's lymphoma, as well as various other cancers.

Cells were plated in a 384-well plate and incubated at 37°C/5% CO₂ to allow the cells to attach and grow. Cells were then stimulated with a control compound, using the assay conditions described below. Following stimulation, signal was detected using the PathHunter Detection Kit according to the recommended protocol.
