9-cis-Retinoic acid

9-cis-Retinoic acid is a natural metabolite of vitamin A (retinol) and potent agonist of the retinoic acid and retinoid X receptors (Ki=0.5-27nM and 3.8-12nM, respectively). Mediates retinol functions for growth and development, and is active in embryonic development by intercellular signaling for the posterior portion of the embryo, and developmental patterning.

Cells were plated in a 384-well plate and incubated overnight at 37°C/5% CO₂ to allow the cells to attach and grow. Cells were then stimulated with a control compound, using the assay conditions described below. Following stimulation, signal was detected using the PathHunter Detection Kit according to the recommended protocol.
