Background Information:

The BRS3 Gq Calcium Signaling Cell-Based Assay Kit (CHO-K1) utilizes the BRS3 Gq cell line. The stable engineered cell line is designed for use in studying drug candidates (small molecules or biologics) that target GPCRs. This cell line enables the assessment of ligand (e.g., bombesin) based activation of BRS3 GPCR activity via detection of increasing levels of intracellular calcium. The included cell line overexpresses BRS3, a naturally Gq coupled GPCR. Upon activation of BRS3, the resulting calcium activity can be fluorescently assayed using the Calcium NoWash PLUS Detection Kit.
