Summary:
The successful candidate for the Senior/Principal Scientist position will guide a small research team in the development of novel assays that can be performed in a high-throughput screening environment. You will be utilizing your skills in cell biology, mammalian cell culture, biochemistry, and assay development to develop novel experimental tools for the drug discovery industry. This position reports to the head of R&D.
Position Requirements:
• PhD in a biology related discipline (e.g. biochemistry, biology, molecular biology,
immunology, etc.).
• Relevant experience working with a wide variety of signaling assays (e.g. tyrosine
kinases, ser/thre kinases, TGF-beta, B-catenin, Jak-Stat, Toll-like receptor, and
DNA damage).
• Experience in cell signaling is a necessity at the graduate student, post-doc
or industry level.
• Ability to retrieve answers and protocols from the primary literature.
• Willingness to learn and an appetite for new ideas is a must.
• Excellent writing and management skills.
It is essential to have experience in mammalian cell culture plus one or more of the following techniques:
• Biochemical assays, phosphorylation assays
• Ligand treatment, cell starvation/stimulation, dose response curves and similar
analysis
• Transfection and clonal selection
